As we stroll along the street, towering construction cranes mark their presence on the construction site, surrounded by resonating noises that envelop us.
I consider all these activities as a process of dreaming and building for the future.
We construct buildings, and then those buildings, in turn, shape us. The sounds and actions seem like a kind of song, shaping our tomorrow.
We also believe that we are still in the ongoing process of constructing ourselves,
much like a perpetual 'Under Construction' state.
Through this artwork, I've sought to encapsulate the contemplation of how meaningful our engaged activities are and I have captured in my artwork the desire to gaze upon all these activities with tender look of emotions associated with it.
길을 걷다 보면 건설 현장의 타워 크레인이 솟아 오르고,
그 주변에서 울리는 소음들이 우리를 감싸고 있다.
이 모든 행위들은 미래를 상상하며 쌓아가는 과정이라고 생각한다.
우리는 건물을 만들고, 그 다음에는 건물이 우리를 형성해 나간다.
소음들은 마치 우리의 내일을 만들어가는 일종의 음악처럼 느껴지기도 한다.
우리 또한 아직 스스로를 만들어 나가고 있는 미완성의 '공사중'인 상태가 아닐까 생각한다.
이 작품을 통해 우리가 살아가면서 행동하고 겪고 있는 활동들이
얼마나 의미 있는 것 인지를 고민해볼 수 있길 바라며,
그 모든 행위를 따뜻한 눈으로 바라보고자 하는 마음을 담았다.
